As to those standards the 1980s weren't even close to being a success for Stevie. He still proved to be a musical force. Producing a selection of hits such as the soundtrack single
"I Just Called to Say I Love You" for the Gene Wilder film, The Woman in Red (1984). Most of Stevie's work the song crossed racial lines, paving the way so it can become Motown's greatest hit of all time,internationally. This single won Stevie an Oscar.
Wonder teamed up with Paul McCartney for the number one single, "Ebony and Ivory" in 1982. The 1980s also saw Wonder, who was unafraid to tackle social issues through his music, successfully spearhead a movement to create a national holiday recognizing Dr. Martin Luther King. Wonder's studio production has slowed. His most recent album, A Time to Love,was released in 2005 which was followed by a ten-year hiatus.

Stevie Wonder has been married twice: to Motown singer/songwriter and frequent collaborator Syreeta Wright since 1970. They had an amicable (peaceful) divorce in in 1972 and since 2001fashion designer Kai Millard Morris. Wonder has Seven children from the second marriage and many relationships. In August 2012, it was announced that Stevie had filed for a divorce with Kai Millard also agreeing to pay Millard's marriage ceromony as well as child support for their two children, he was asking for joint custody. Wonder and his wife has been separated from his wife since October 2009.
Stevie and Yolanda met when she had applied for a job to be his secretary for his publishing company. Yolanda gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Aisha Morris on February 2,1975. The name Aisha is an African for strength and intelligence, according to Stevie. Shortly after she was born Stevie said unto her " she is was what he was missing in his music for a long time." She was his inspiration to the hit single "Isn't She Lovely".
Aisha Morris is now a singer who has toured with her father and accompanied him on recordings, which also includes his album in 2005 " A Time 2 Love." Wonder has two sons with Kai his older son Kailand and Mandla Kadjay Carl Stevland Morris. His older some occasionally performs as a drummer on stage with his father. As for his younger son he was born on May 13, 2005 which is his father's 55th birthday. May of 2006 Stevies mother died in LA at the age of 76. During his concert in Birmingham on Sept. 8, 2008 he decided to begin touring again after the loss of his mother." I want to take all the pain that I feel and celebrate and turn it around." Wonder's Taxi Production now owns LA radio station KJLH.
